There have been the civil war because the northern states and southern states didn’t agree on culture ,economics and politics. But the most problem was slavery .
Abraham Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery but the southern states wanted to keep the slaves because they produced cooton and they needed them .
In blue : The northern states of the union (in light blue: the northern states of the union where slavery was legal).
In red : The southern states conferred .
So , the war started ...
Between the northern states and the southern states there were many différences :

During this war there were a lot of battles . There were 391 battles which made more or less 10,000 dead soldiers .For example : the Battle of Chickamauga(in Georgia), the Battle of Chancellorsville (in Virginia) or the deadliest one :the Battle of Gettysburg(in Pennsylvania).
The war began in 1861 , the northern states won . The 9 April 1865 the southern states capitulated . The war was over !
However , this war did 620, 000 dead and hundreds of thousands of injured people. It’s the war where there were the most dead of America .
